We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counsellor to work within the Ability Options Counselling team!

You will use your knowledge and experience to provide; Vocational and therapeutic counselling services and behaviour-based supports to people in different environments and facilitate group training sessions. Your role will require you to work collaboratively with others to ensure the individuals we support are empowered to reach their goals.

The Role

Location: Brookvale, Chatswood and Ryde NSW (some travel may be required across the region)
Job Type: Permanent Part-Time, up to 30 hours per week
Remuneration: $45.89 per hour + super + salary packaging

Essential Criteria

• Registration or clinical membership with PACFA or ACA
• Demonstrated experience providing counselling, crisis intervention and critical incident management to individuals experiencing complex barriers to employment, mental health challenges, disability and neurodivergence.
• Proven ability to deliver evidence-informed, person-centred, strengths-based and solution-focused interventions that support positive outcomes.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care principles and participant-led service delivery.
• Experience working within employment, disability, mental health, community services or allied health settings.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
• Experience developing, facilitating and evaluating therapeutic, psychoeducational and wellbeing-focused group programs.
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Current NSW Driver Licence (minimum P2).
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
