Your commitment to our values and your determination to see people fulfil their potential will ensure that we can continue our mission of assisting all people to live their best life possible. The RoleDue to ongoing business growth we are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to join the team at our Coffs Harbour Respite Unit.As a Team Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a busy respite unit. Along with managing daily administration, operations and compliance tasks, you will be providing leadership, support and supervision and act as a mentor and guide to a team of Disability Support Workers, modelling best-practice principles with a person-centred approach. You will be responsible for budget monitoring, service payments as well liaising with parents, advocates and guardians to foster open communication and encourage involvement in the lives of people with disability.Within the role of a Team Leader, you will be required to assist people as they move through all aspects of daily living with support tailored to their individual needs and wishes. We need you to be professional but friendly; a creative thinker with a positive outlook on life and a passion for seeing people at their best. We also need you to be an advocate for people’s rights, and a good coach as you work with participants to move towards greater independence and personal fulfilment.You will need to be confident in supporting people with personal care and medical needs. Building rapport and taking the time to get to know each person you’re working with is essential as a major part of your role is supporting individuals to build community connections and natural support networks.Please note: This role is on a 24/7 rotating roster, so you will need full availability for days, afternoons, nights and weekends and travel between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour as and when required.Job Specifications3-4 years experience as a Disability Support Worker or 12 months experience in a Team Leader roleAbility to perform manual handling and personal careAbility to complete and update progress reports with intermediate computer skillsWillingness to undertake any necessary training to provide best supportWorking knowledge of a person centred approachAbility and skills to support and assist people with personal care and complex behavioursCurrent Emergency Response or First Aid CertificateCertificate IV Disability or equivalentCertificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalentWorking with Children Check clearance numberMinimum P2 drivers licence with the willingness to travel within multiple sites in the Mid North CoastOwn vehicle that is comprehensively insuredThe BenefitsThis is an opportunity to join a team that works to enrich the lives of people living with a disability.
