We respect and value the contribution of people from all cultures, backgrounds and beliefs, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people and people with disability. The Role - What we are looking for We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to work within the Ability Options Community.  You will use your knowledge and experience to provide evidence and behaviour based supports to people in different environments. You will be working together with individuals to provide support for goals, such as those related to increasing independence, building relationships and developing overall well-being (including mental-health).You will also be providing clinical support to support staff, including Support Workers and the operational management team where needed, and will be able to work closely with others to ensure the individuals we support are empowered to reach their goals.Essential Criteria: Registration with appropriate registering body e.g. RCAA, AHPRA etc.Specialist knowledge of disability services.Experience in conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments and designing, implementing and evaluating behaviour support plans.Knowledge of Keep Them Safe guidelines and mandatory reporting requirements.Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, National Disability Insurance Scheme and current reform in the disability sector.Extensive knowledge of best practice Behaviour Management Policies and procedures, including restricted practices framework, or a willingness to learn.Valid NSW Driver Licence (minimum P2)Ability to undergo a satisfactory police checkWorking With Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain) Desirable Criteria: Knowledge of disability accommodation services and settings including; best practice expectations, funding context, and behaviour supports within a best practice evidence based framework for persons with an intellectual/psychological/physical disability.Knowledge of capacity testing across the lifespan, or a willingness to learn.Why Work for Us?When you join Ability Options you will experience a vibrant, values driven organisation where the people we support are at the centre of everything we do.In return for your skills and experience you will receive a competitive remuneration package, access to Fitness passport, a rewards and recognition program and the ability to significantly increase your take home pay with not-for profit salary packaging.  AUD Taree 2430
